Sangakkara and Dilshan Shatter Pakistan

With their impressive winter whitewashing of England still fresh in the memory, Pakistan suffered a surprising series loss in Sri Lanka, losing grip of the series trophy in the process.

The Sri Lankans, who in contrast to the tourists have experienced a significant decline in recent years, were on the winning side of a comfortable 1-0 scoreline, in no small part thanks to two centuries apiece from Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan.  The margin of victory, in fact, could have been greater had home captain Mahela Jayawardene chosen not to settle for a draw in the 3rd Test, with a win seeming eminently within reach.

As a result of their relinquishing of the series trophy, Pakistan drop a place in the League to 5th, with India moving into the vacated 4th spot.  Although Sri Lanka remain in 6th place, they stay below their defeated rivals in this series only because of an inferior Match Win/Loss %.  The victorious Sri Lankans will surely be eyeing a return to the top half of the table after this confidence-boosting result.
